Pioneering Auto-Focus Enabled Box-style 4K Multi-Purpose Camera   Panasonic has announced the launch of its AK-UBX100, a next-generation box-style 4K multi-purpose camera,  which shares the same 2/3” bayonet lens mount platform as the AK-UCX100 4K studio camera introduced last  year. The AKUBX100 is designed to deliver seamless integration, advanced operability, and outstanding imagin performance, and is the world’s first*1 Auto-Focus (AF) system camera, while the feature will be available via a  firmware update (FWUP) initially available in the AK-UCX100 in December 2025.    This breakthrough makes it possible to achieve fast and stable focus across multiple lenses and shooting  conditions, greatly simplifying workflows and supporting operators of all skill levels. The newly developed AF  system, delivered via firmware update, enables precise target acquisition and incremental adjustment of position,  size, and speed of the focus area. Even experienced operators benefit from the one-push AF support, which  allows rapid subject capture before fine manual adjustments. This functionality ensures smooth, high-quality  focus control in complex live production settings.​ ​ The AK-UBX100 incorporates the same core design, shared menu interface, and remote operation panel (ROP)  compatibility as the AK-UCX100 4K studio camera, enabling easy colour matching and unified operability across  devices, including the AW-UE160 4K PTZ camera.
